Dental Implant

Dental implants are high-grade medical devices used to replace missing teeth to improve a person’s chewing function or aesthetics.

With screw-like devices, our dental surgeons insert an implant into the jawbone, and it acts as an anchor for an artificial tooth, called a crown.

Why Choose Dental Implant?

Biocompatible

As dental implants are made of Titanium, these are very strong and biocompatible to our body. This means that our jaw will naturally grow new bone around it, anchoring it firmly in place like the root of a natural tooth.

Natural

Unlike dentures where there may be problems such as clicking noises, impaired speech, and loose dentures. Dental implants are the closest thing you will get to a natural tooth. It replaces the crown above the gum line and the supporting tooth root below to eliminate these problems.

Age slower

As we lose teeth, the bone supporting the teeth will also gradually thin out. This then leads to the loss of volume on one’s face as we age. Hence, by having dental implants in place, it can encourage the development of new tissues and delay bone degeneration.

Eat What You Like

With dental bridges or dentures, your dentist would advice you to avoid certain hard or sticky food. However, you won’t have to stop eating your favorite foods because the replacement tooth supported by an implant will remain in place and not move or fall out.

Simple Maintenance

No special care is necessary for dental implants. Unlike dentures, which need to be cleaned carefully every day and kept moist and germ-free overnight. Your dentist will merely encourage you to practice regular good oral hygiene

What to Consider before getting Dental Implant?

Not suitable for everyone

While dental implants are arguably the best replacement option for missing teeth, there are certain criteria to be met before doing the surgery.

  • Sufficient bone to support the dental implant

  • Good Oral Hygiene and maintenance habits

  • Cleared of medical conditions that may interfere with bone healing

Price

Dental implants are normally more expensive than other alternatives at first glance. However, they do last longer as compared to bridges and dentures that require more regular replacements.

Require several appointments

The full dental implant procedure requires a series of appointments spread out over up to six months. This could be discouraging if you’re looking for a quick fix for your smile. The waiting time is required so the jaw bone can heal around the implant and firmly retain it.

Require surgery

For all its wonderful positives, the placement of dental implants is a surgical procedure. That said, our dentist will review each step to ensure you understand what to anticipate during the procedure and healing phases.

Our
Workflow

01

Consultation & 3D X-ray

Initial consultation with your dentist, where the feasibility of a dental implant is determined.

02

Treatment Plan

A customized treatment plan is developed based on your specific needs, including the number of implants required and any necessary preparatory procedures.

03

Bone Grafting if needed

If there's insufficient bone to support the implant, bone grafting may be necessary. It will take 2-3 months time before implant placement

04

Implant Placement Surgery

In a surgical procedure, the implant is placed into the jawbone. It's left to heal for 2-3 months, allowing the bone to bond with the implant (osseointegration).

05

Cover screw replacement with Healing Abutment + Implant crown impression

Cover screw is exposed through a small cut through the gum. Cover screw is then  carefully replaced with healing abutment. Next, make a mold of the implant area for implant crown

06

Implant crown placement

A custom crown is made to fit the implant, attaching the crown to the abutment, conducting final checks for fit and aesthetics,

07

Follow Up

Follow-up appointments to fine tune the implant and to monitor progress to ensure the implant's success.

  • Is braces painful?
Braces can initially lead to discomfort and soreness, which may persist after adjustments. Friction between braces, teeth, and the mouth can cause mouth sores. Do not worry, these issues are temporary and can be eased with pain relievers and dental wax or gels for ulcers.
  • What age is best to start braces?
Though people can get generally braces at any age, whether young or old, orthodontic treatment is most commonly recommended for teenagers around 9 to 14 years old as at this time, all the permanent teeth have already erupted and the jaw is still growing, both of which allows dentist to make adjustments more effectively.
  • How long does braces last?
On average, dental braces are worn for 1 to 3 years, but the length can be shorter or longer depending on your treatment method and orthodontic issue.

Some of the common alternatives include: Ceramic Braces: These are similar to metal braces but use clear or tooth-colored brackets, making them less noticeable.
